Day 1: Surabaya to Mount Bromo

Day 1 is all about the leisurely journey to Mount Bromo and Madakaripura Waterfall, the beginning of an eye-opening discovery of East Java’s wonders.

• Get escorted from your hotel/Juanda International Airport to the magnificent Mount Bromo, a four-hour journey that puts you at the epicentre of spectacular sceneries and lush terrains.

• Visit the legendary Madakaripura Waterfall, a grand enchantment for those ravenous for historical experiences.*

• Enjoy your luxurious stay at Bromo Terrace Hotel, a cosy getaway surrounded by undulating hills and beautiful plantations. Fret not, if Bromo Terrace hotel is fully booked out, we can head over to Bromo Park hotel, which sits in the centre of one of the city’s most exotic enclaves.

Day 2: Mount Bromo to Kawah Ijen

A deeper dive into East Java’s wonders to capture the eclectic mix of rejuvenating landscapes coupled with unforgettable vistas of the cosmos.

• Savour every moment of the dazzling Milky Way, the cosmos’ glorious arch specked with tiny luminous diamonds.

• Experience the gorgeous sunrise from Mount Bromo’s peak, a beautiful florid orange hue over the bleak horizon.

• Discover more picture-perfect moments at the Hill of Love, and marvel at Indonesia’s ravishing sceneries before heading to Mount Bromo's crater through the Sea of Sand.

• If you’re a thrill-seeker, jump on a horse and take a 20-minute gallop towards the smouldering crater. Finish the last leg of the journey with a 15-minute flight of steps towards the fiery caldera.

• Head back to Bromo hotel on a private 4WD jeep and be welcomed by a warm sumptuous breakfast at 10.30am before checking out by 11am.

• Journey closer to the resplendent Kawah Ijen by 7pm, the grand attraction known for the world’s largest acidic crater lake.

• Enjoy a relaxing stay at either El Royale Resort or Dialoog Banyuwangi for two nights, sophisticated hotels that offer top-notch services with tasteful facilities.

Day 3: Banyuwangi (free and easy)

A hassle-free day to relax and rejuvenate before attempting the adventurous climb up the famed Mount Ijen at midnight.

• Refresh yourself with a hearty breakfast by the hotel to recuperate and rebuild your vitality.

• Ask the tour guide for exclusive recommendations if you’d like to cruise through exhilarating activities within a stone’s throw from the hotel (Cost for activities are excluded).

• Catch up on ample rest after a delicious dinner, before leaving the hotel at midnight.

Day 4: Kawah Ijen to Surabaya

The final adventure awaits you on this day. A dramatic closure of an unforgettable journey, with iconic marvels that encapsulate the essence of East Java’s purity.

• Leave the hotel at midnight before heading to Paltuding area, with a heart-warming breakfast en-route your last escapade.

• Begin a 2-hour trek up majestic Mount Ijen’s peak, one of East Java’s best and most unique natural phenomena.^

• Tantalise your senses with the famous Blue Flame Sulphur of Ijen, and capture striking imageries with the counsel of the local guide.#

• Stroll down the rim of Ijen Lake and witness the spectacular view that unfolds as you inch closer to the world’s largest acidic crater lake.~

• Head back up Ijen’s peak to return to Paltuding, and feast on your final breakfast at the hotel before leaving for Surabaya via car.

• The road trip to Surabaya city will take around 7 hours or longer depending on traffic conditions. Drop off at Surabaya by 4.30pm.

Itinerary is subject to changes depending on the environmental conditions. Should there be any changes, our experienced guide will update you at the soonest. We’d prefer to stick closely to the itinerary if possible.

- Light fitness required to climb up the steps leading to the rim of Mount Bromo's crater.

- Hike to Mount Ijen is moderate.

Hotel upgrade options for Banyuwangi

You can consider upgrading to Dialoog Banyuwangi beach resort, which has a pool overlooking North Bali and a private beach, for additional SGD$150 per pax, for two nights.

Options for end of tour

(a) Bali Drop-Off

- Includes ferry ticket from Ketapang to Gilimanuk.

- Journey takes about 4-5 hours from Ijen to Kuta/Seminyak/Canggu/Denpasar and Ubud.

- Transfer by Car.

- Additional one more day/night car rental fee will be imposed because you may reach Bali around late afternoon or evening and our driver needs to rest and as he can't return to Java Island immediately.

Entrance Fees

If you choose to pay the entrance fees in advance via our booking option, you are not required to get down the car to pay it yourself for each attraction and you don't have to bring extra cash for it.

Milky Way Tour

Milky Way may not be visible to the naked eye if you go during the full moon or when moonlight is present near the Galactic core. However, it is still possible to photograph the Milky Way during the full moon as shown in the below image if you're an experienced astrophotographer. DSLR or compact camera or smartphone like Huawei P30 Pro is recommended to photograph the Milky Way if moonlight is not present.
